New Dave and Augie site up

Hey there. It's me Dawn again. Just wanted to let everyone know that the new Dave and Augie website is up at www.DaveandAugie.com. And just a reminder, www.FreggieEntertainment.com is no longer active. If you go there, it will redirect you to our new website at www.FreggieProductions.com. Ciao, Dawn

New Freggie Productions website up!

Greetings from Rome, Italy! That's where I'm writing this from. I'm Greg's sister, Dawn, and I do research, educational development and website design for "Dave and Augie's Home Movies". The reason I'm writing this from Rome is that's where I live with my husband, Sergio, and our young daughter. I'm blogging today to let everyone know that I just put up our new Freggie Productions website (by the way, our company name recently switched from Freggie Entertainment to Freggie Productions) at www.FreggieProductions.com. The site has photos and video clips from the Dave and Augies series, so we hope you'll check it out. You can also learn a little bit more about Greg and I on the About Freggie Productions page. I'll soon be publishing the updated www.DaveandAugie.com website. I'll let you know when that's up. Arriverderci da Roma, Dawn

Slacker I am

I've been slacking on my blogging big time.  I've never blogged before.  I've written, I've typed, I've scrawled, but never blogged.  It's not so painful actually.

It's raining to beat the band today (and the band is severely losing).  This storm has cost me a tree, and a garage door, but I don't care!  It's 10 days 'til festival time!  To quote Homer Simpson "Woo-hoo!"  It's looking like there's going to be a lot to do that week.

I showed my 7 month old the pilot for the first time yesterday.  I figured he'd watch about 10 minutes since it's way over his head still (the show is geared towards 5-9 year olds).  He watch the full 22 minutes and even started to dance (as much as a 7 month old can dance) during the music video segment.  Talk about an ego boast.

That's all for now.  See you in 10.

First Interview

I had my first interview today with a local newspaper, The Windsor-Hights Herald.  My sister Dawn (who is also my head researcher) put together an amazing press release that we sent out to all the New Jersey newspapers, radio stations, and local television stations.

The interview went well.  We talked for an hour at the Slowdown Cafe in town.  Pictures were taken of me and Dave (the puppet I play).  It was fun telling the reporter all about how the company started and where the idea for the show came from, who's who in the crew, etc.  The article comes out next Friday, September 1st.  (Wow, is it almost September already?!)

Then, when I came home, I had an email from the Trenton Times asking if I had a photo of me, so I sent out the picture above of me and all the puppets.  I can't wait to read these articles.

Home Movies

July 26, 2006 - I received a phone call today from Brent Burnette telling me I’m going to be part of the 2006 New York Television Festival.   I can’t believe it!  It’s an amazing opportunity to get my pilot seen.  I called my wife at work, my parents, my sisters, and of course my crew.  I was up to my elbows in baby feces while I was taking the call.  Leave it to my son to keep me grounded.

July 31, 2006 – Just answered a bunch of interview questions about the creation of my pilot.  Questions like how I came up with the idea, funny production stories.  Things like that.  I’d forgotten how I came up with the show.  It took me a minute or two to work out the timeline in my head.  It’s going to be an interesting two months.  I also read that out of 175 submissions, only 21 were chosen.

August 2, 2006 – I need to get a mini dv of my pilot, trailer, and out takes, plus a dvd of just the trailer and out takes to NYTVF by August 14.  I’m crazy busy with editing right now, but it doesn’t matter.  This is so important to me that I took time out to get the materials together and mail it.  I took a look at the NYTVF website and checked out the other pilots in my category.  I’m curious to see them.  I also took a look to see what an “All-Access Pass” gets you and it looks like there’s going to be a premiere party, and something called a happy hour panel and a breakfast panel.  I wonder how many of those events I’m invited too?  No really, it’s going to be an interesting two months.
